The Best Snacks To Have On Deck When The Munchies Hit

We’ve had plenty of fun nights with our besties taking puffs and drinking wine. Sharing stories as we laughed the hours away. Watched a movie, talked more than we actually watched. One thing is inevitable, the munchies, they always hit and it’s usually late night and the choices aren’t the best. In some occasions we’ve even gone as low as ordering Domino’s. And believe me the next day we’d be guilt ridden as we sipped our green juices and shared a glance or regret. You don’t want that to happen. So, we put together a list of favorable snacks to have when the munchies hit. Enjoy.

Crudites darling! Keep veggies in the fridge. Eat them. I’ve been plating the best little veggie snacks. The combinations can be endless because it’s all about the dip. You can do something easy like store bought ranch, carrot ginger whatever you fancy but hummus is easier to make than you think and taste so much better home made than store brought.
Popcorn because it’s perfect for movie night. You can pop your own and add nutritional yeast instead of butter and salt and trust me you would like it better. If you’re like me and skip the popping my own I usually get Bjorn Qorn they makes the best popcorn. It’s delicious guiltless cheesy flavor comes from the nutritional yeast and it’s sun popped. Avoid the processed stuff and stick with this.
Recess hardly qualifies as a snack but it definitely taste great. It’s refreshing and what better way to get your adaptogens. On the nights that I trade a glass of wine for a recess I love myself more. No lie or exaggeration. Recess make you feel as bubbly as they taste.
Berries and dark chocolate I always pick up berries from the market now. They’re perfect as is with a little mint sprinkled on top. On nights that I want to get fancy I follow one of Padma Lakshmi’s recipes for a quick dessert. Simply warm the berries and pour them over a scoop of vanilla ice cream followed by some shaved dark chocolate. It’s heavenly.
Almond Joy Smoothie or any smoothie really but this concoction is the creamiest and most delicious dessert – warning it’s very rich. Simply blend almond milk, 1/2 frozen banana, almond butter, coconut flakes, chocolate protein. You have the best dairy free, guiltless pleasure that is actually good for you.
